Scoutmaster's Corner

I'm Jim Pelech, the current Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 139. Being the scoutmaster of a troop is kind of like being the ringmaster at a circus. All kinds of activities happen and it looks like you are in the middle of it all. But that is often just an illusion. While I am the public face of the troop, there are many dedicated individuals whose selfless efforts make this troop run. Let's remember to thank those individuals, and especially all the parents that pitch in to make this troop what it is.

Who We Are

Troop 139 currently consists of approximately 24 boys ranging in age from 11 to 16 (6th grade to High School Junior). We have a large number of VERY enthusiastic 6th graders who have energized us. I'm looking forward to watching these young scouts proceed down the scouting trail and becoming the backbone of the troop for many years to come. Check out our photos page and events page for our scouts in action.

We believe that scouts is about having fun, and learning life skills in the process. We are a boy led troop. The scouts themselves are responsible for running the meetings, planning trips, and setting the direction of the troop. The older scouts teach the younger scouts providing a challenging and interesting environment for both young and older scouts.

Also remember....

If it isn't fun, it isn't scouting!!!
